What we're building

Software is starting to buy things on its own behalf. An agent that needs a language model, a web search, a block of compute or a phone call currently has to be handed an API key by a human, on an account a human opened, billed to a card a human owns. BlockRun removes that step: a request arrives, it is quoted a price, it pays in USDC, and it gets the capability — no account, no key, no subscription. We are the routing and payment layer that makes that transaction work across hundreds of models and data providers.

How we work

We are remote-first and distributed across time zones, which means we bias heavily toward written communication and asynchronous decisions over standing meetings. The team is small, so scope is wide: engineers here own features from design through deploy and talk to the developers using them. We ship to production continuously rather than on a release train, and we would rather correct a small thing quickly than wait to be certain.

Who tends to do well here

People who are comfortable without a lot of process, who can pick up an unfamiliar system and make a careful change to it, and who care about the details users actually feel — latency, error messages, whether the thing works on the first try. Direct experience with payments, blockchains, or model infrastructure is useful but not required; most of what matters here is not something you could have learned elsewhere yet.
